WHEREAS the Government of the Faroes concludes this Agreement on behalf of the Kingdom of Denmark pursuant to the Act on the Conclusion of Agreements under International Law by the Government of the Faroes.

CONVINCED that the conservation and sustainable use of the living marine resources in the Area of Application and the protection of the marine ecosystems in which those resources occur, plays a major role in the context of blue growth and sustainable development,

WHEREAS consultations pursuant to Article 21 of the Euro Mediterranean Agreement have taken place in order to ensure that account has been taken of the mutual interests of the Community and Lebanon,

TAKING INTO ACCOUNT that persons travelling for the purpose of carrying out a paid activity during their short stay are not covered by this Agreement and therefore for that category the relevant rules of Union law and national law of the Member States and the national law of the UAE on the visa obligation or exemption and on the access to employment continue to apply

RECALLING the signature of the Central European Free Trade Agreement in Bucharest on 19 December 2006 as a means of enhancing the region's ability to attract investments and the prospects of its integration into the global economy,

The financial information which is required to be reported and exchanged should concern not only all relevant income (interests, dividends and similar types of income) but also account balances and sale proceeds from Financial Assets, in order to address situations where a taxpayer seeks to hide capital that in itself represents income or assets with regard to which tax has been evaded.

Likewise, any subsequent EU internal measures which were to be adopted pursuant to the above mentioned Title V to implement this Agreement would not bind the United Kingdom and or Ireland unless they have notified their wish to take part or accept such measures in accordance with Protocol No 21.

WISHING to strengthen cooperation between Morocco and the Community, and taking into consideration the Euro Mediterranean Agreement establishing an association between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Kingdom of Morocco, of the other part, 1 which entered into force on 1 March 2000 (hereinafter referred to as the March 2000 Association Agreement ),

WHEREAS the categories of Reporting Financial Institutions and Reportable Accounts covered by the Agreement as amended by this Amending Protocol are designed to limit the opportunities for taxpayers to avoid being reported by shifting assets to Financial Institutions or investing in financial products that are outside the scope of the Agreement as amended by this Amending Protocol.

REAFFIRMING their commitment to support regional integration within West Africa and in particular to promote regional economic integration as an essential instrument for their integration into the world economy, by assisting them to face challenges related to globalisation and to achieve the economic and social development that they aim at

HAVE AGREED as follows

Also noting that such future agreements or such subsequent Union internal measures would fall within Protocol No 22 on the position of Denmark annexed to those Treaties,

CONFIRMING their desire to enhance, fully in accordance with activities undertaken in a regional framework, the cooperation between the Parties based on shared values and mutual benefit,

PERSUADED that such cooperation should take shape progressively and pragmatically, as their policies develop,

Given that this Agreement did not come into force before the end of 2014, it is essential to ensure the eligibility of expenditure incurred before and until the formal designation of the Responsible Authority, provided that the management and control systems applied before are essentially the same as the ones in force after the formal designation of the Responsible Authority.

HAVE AGREED UPON THE FOLLOWING PROVISIONS

RECOGNISING the importance attached by the Parties to the principles and rules which govern international trade as contained in particular in the Agreement establishing the World Trade Organization (WTO) and to the need to apply them in a transparent and non discriminatory manner,

TAKING INTO ACCOUNT the Protocol on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the area of freedom, security and justice and the Protocol on the Schengen acquis integrated into the framework of the European Union, annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and confirming that the provisions of this amending Agreement do not apply to the United Kingdom and Ireland,
