What I really enjoyed about this project is reviving these people's words.

Ladies and gentlemen, I wish to tell the two rapporteurs that I like their amendments very much.

Commissioner, thank you for giving me a well intentioned answer, which has been rigorous and well argued.

I welcome the words and proposals regarding the reinvigoration of the Barcelona Process.

I really enjoyed working with the Commission and all the people that have helped me.

I fully appreciate the Commission's position and, indeed, as Parliament, we must be very careful.

On both occasions I appreciated and enjoyed the outstanding cooperation with the EP delegation.

This time I greatly appreciated Mr Wurtz's speech, for the first time in 20 years, I think.

I liked Mr Corrie's remark about oil rich African states which could do more.

I particularly admire Mr Linkohr's speech this evening. It was very constructive and thoughtful.

I further welcome what you said about the modified risk weight curve and retail lending and collateral.

I would like to take this opportunity to say that I was very appreciative of what has been done in Somalia by the US forces.

I have greatly appreciated the chance to outline the Com mission's current views to the House.

I very much welcome the position taken by the Italian Radicals and I say this while making a clear historic and material distinction between Italian liberals and Austrian liberals.

Our partners are expecting practical steps to be taken, as Mr Naïr stressed in his report, which I thought was particularly valuable.

And so Lakshmi had to put up with me through all of that, but I very much appreciate the opportunity she's given me to be here.

I want to give particular thanks to the other three rapporteurs, for I really appreciated the way we worked and the clarity of their positions.

I was particularly pleased with the emphasis placed on the need to prevent incidental mortality among dolphins and other species associated with tuna fisheries.

Madam President, ladies and gentlemen, I welcomed the report as it was presented to us and I also appreciated the work of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development on the position to be assumed by Parliament with regard to both the approach taken by past regulations and the current approach adopted by the Commission and the Council.

It was at that moment, in that very small town of 30,000 or so, that I truly appreciated the vastness of the universe and the searching we might do in it.

I want to say how much I appreciated Honourable Members' contributions in those debates. In the address I am going to make now I shall be referring only incidentally to those issues.

I should like to reiterate here, Commissioner, how much I have appreciated the positive spirit in which we Parliament, the Commission and the Council have all worked together.
