In the North Atlantic Treaty Organization The EPP is also present and active in the Parliamentary Assembly of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and forms the EPP and Associated Members Group there.

Collective Security Treaty Organization The Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) (Russian Организация Договора о Коллективной Безопасности) or simply the Tashkent Treaty (Russian Ташкентский договор) first began as the CIS Collective Security Treaty which was signed on 15 May 1992, by Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russian Federation, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, in the city of Tashkent.

It has been a member state of the European Union (EU) and its predecessor, the European Economic Community (EEC), since 1973 it is also a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, the Council of Europe, the G7, the G8, the G20, NATO, the Organisation for Economic Co operation and Development (OECD), and the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Commitments and cooperation in this area shall be consistent with commitments under the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, which, for those States which are members of it, remains the foundation of their collective defence and the forum for its implementation.

Organisation of Governing Council meetings

The appeal shall contain the name and permanent address of the applicant and the description of the signatory , a reference to the decision against which the appeal is brought , the names of the respondents , the subject matter of the dispute , the submissions and a brief statement of the grounds on which the appeal is based . Within the scope of this Chapter , the Political and Security Committee shall exercise , under the responsibility of the Council and of the High Representative , the political control and strategic direction of the crisis management operations referred to in Article 43 .
